I just got this printer as a second hand product for my personal uses around one month ago. The printing quality is good and acceptable. My office also has hp 4600 and hp 4650dn. But I feel that the one that I got is newer than my office. It 80% news as I see it.
There are two thing that disappoint me only: 1. This printer support thick paper upto 160 gram only. What I expected is 300 grams. 2. This printer could not support A3 apper size.
Thank,
Kanel

My office purchased this printer about 6 years ago, so I can really speak when I say it's reliable. 6 years later it's going strong and we have no need to replace it, here's why:
1. It's fast and continuous when it prints.
2. It rarely has a paper jam.
3. It prints really crisp color pictures.
4. Good display screen for showing things like when the ink is about to run out, and how many pages are left before needing to purchase more ink. Easy navigation.
5. Easy to change out the cartages.
6. Prints double sided fast, easy, and clear.
7. Just a darn good reliable printer!
Some flaws.
1. The Network Interface Card. There are three slots on the side of the printer to use, and apparently there is a known defect with this model (J6057A). You can call HP to request a free NIC but we never had to, I just reconnected it to another slot and it works fine.
2. Printer recently started making an annoying loud grinding sound. It was hard to tell where the noise was coming from, but we figured it was the cogs on the top where the paper comes out. We oiled it, and it works like a charm!
3. Something's up with the pink ink cartage; it always leaves some residue on the inside where the machine pushes the paper up, leaving behind a faint pink fade when printing labels. Not sure why this only happens when printing labels (thicker paper perhaps?). Easily fixed by wiping the inside of the printer, and only does it after the ink is about half gone.
4. Printer doesn't accept photo paper because it's an inkjet, the ink just smears all over the glossy paper, it also clogs the printer and you have to clean it. Not good. That's unfortunate considering the crisp quality on just normal paper, but that works fine.
I definitely recommend this printer. We've used it for reports, pamphlets, booklets, pictures, etc. I want one for home, unfortunately it's really too big for home use.

The product is good, no complaints yet. However I was extremely disappointed with the condition in which it was sent.
Granted the post can be brutal, however this does not mean that the box should be battered beyond recognition and the printer itself, came with ABSOLUTELY no cables none for plugging it in or for attaching it to your computer. Additionally, NO instruction manaul was sent. The printer had several black smudges on the top and sides.
For the money I paid, at least cables should have been included. Thank god I have at home, however this is by far the worst service I have encounted since being an Amazon member.
Totally appalled.

I've had this printer for about a year now and it has been amazing. I work on private placements frequently and sometimes need to be able to print 100+ page documents at all hours of the day and night. This printer can crank them out amazingly fast, with great print quality and duplex printing to save paper. (I formerly used an old laser Multi-function device that printed at about 25% the speed, with no color, duplex or network connectivity - uggh!)
While I do not use the printer for extensive photo printing or other home/entertainment purposes, the color printing is excellent for business purposes - reports, proposals, etc.
The internal print server did burn out about 6 months after I bought it. HP Service was great - sent me a new part ASAP and I was up and running right away - very much unlike some of the customer support experiences I have had with other consumer electronic device manufacturers (Philips/TiVo). (The issue manifested itself by the printer "disappearing" from my available printers, needing to be reinstalled from time-to-time. I finally figured out what was going on after calling HP support when it happened a couple of times. All is fine now.)

(...)This printer is FAST! I use this printer for printing customer proofs (I'm a part-time professional photographer), and the colors are more accurate than photo-quality ink-jet prints (although ink-jet prints are generally more pleasing to the eye).
